Destination Wedding at Cannery Row

Like many of my couples, Ashley & John planned their wedding from a far, this time from Utah. If you know me, you know I’m the queen of destination weddings in Nashville. It took some coordination, but we managed to plan this wedding across time zones and busy work schedules, and it turned out like a dream.

A special part of this wedding is that it was held at Cannery Row, which is closing at the current location in June 2022. A big part of planning a destination wedding is giving guests an experience of the city that they will remember forever. It’s lovely to look back on the venue in photos and for guests to experience such a rich part of Nashville’s scene before it moves locations.

Our photographer Chris at Sowing Clover Photography got really creative with photos of the couple and bridal party in the alley and on the stairs.

I love the use of the industrial venue in these images!

The best part of hiring a wedding planner is that we take away the stress on your wedding day. This bridal party was certainly having a blast before the ceremony.

The couple requested simple decor, so tables were decorated with lanterns and greenery while the room was draped in fabric and string lights.

Instead of a cake, Ashley requested a donut wall. Naturally, we had to go with Five Daughters Bakery, which is a MUST-do if you are visiting Nashville. We went with the Purist, the Maple Glaze, and the Huckleberry Glaze, and they were all a hit with guests. Ashley said she and her family had a blast tasting donuts: “My dad ate five, he loved them so much!”

Many of our couples hate to see waste, and at Kelsey Gray Events we strive to be sustainable whenever possible. Ashley & John were generous in this aspect. Flowers from the event were donated to Hospice, and leftover donuts were donated to a very grateful older adult community.
