General

What happens if we have to postpone or cancel our wedding? I don’t want to lose all of my money.

With planning packages, you will make 3-4 payments over the course of the months or year that we are working together. As I am providing the planning service over time during this period, none of these payments are refundable. If you choose to reschedule your wedding, a fee will apply and you will need to choose a date based on my availability.

For flowers, the initial payment is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the event, and this is when I order flowers from farmers and wholesalers. Once I have placed this order, we won’t be able to get a refund. If you postpone before the flowers are ordered, then I will transfer your balance to a new date for an additional fee, assuming that I’m available.

What if something happens to you on our wedding day?

First, know that I do everything I can to prevent this from happening. If I have booked your wedding, then I am committed to showing up no matter what personal issues arise in my life. But, things happen, so it’s always good to have a plan. I am a member of The Certified Wedding Planners Society, which is a group of certified wedding planners across the nation. We are there to support each other, and if I were to be out then another planner from this group would cover using my extremely detailed timeline. Fingers crossed, it hasn’t happened yet, but isn’t it nice to know that there is a plan just in case?

How many people will show up on my wedding day?

That will depend on the size and scope of your event. Whether we are working on planning or flowers, I will determine the amount of staff that is needed based on your venue, guest count, and size or type of the flower order, and then include that cost in your initial quote.

Pricing

How much does it cost to work with you?

Ah, the pricing question. You just want a straight answer, I get it. I want you to get everything that you need, without paying more than what you should. For this reason, all quotes are customized based on your specific needs.

For planning, we’ll do an initial consult for free, and I’ll ask questions about the role that you want me to play in your wedding. Many of my Nashville destination clients book not only full planning and design, but rehearsal dinner, day-after brunch, and guest activities (think Nashville tourist stuff!), while some couples will simply want big picture items like vendor booking and coordination. While my pricing is more than fair, I will say that if price is your only decision factor, then we probably won’t be the best fit. Couples book me for the fun and stress-free planning experience, the awesome Nashville experience for their guests, and my colorful, unique designs.

For flowers, my sweet spot in price ranges from $2,500-$8,000 for a wedding. A $2500 wedding is going to include bouquets, simple centerpieces for a modest guest count, and maybe a small arch piece. The $8000 wedding is going to include more elaborate centerpieces, perhaps a large arch or installation, or flowers for a very large wedding.

Do you have a minimum spend for flowers?

Yes. There is a minimum spend of $2000 for floral design, unless you are combining with a planning package.

What if I just need a few bouquets? I’m doing the centerpieces myself.

Although I appreciate your interest, Kelsey Gray Events is not the best fit for your wedding. My floral design agreement contains an exclusivity clause, in which you agree that Kelsey Gray Events will be the sole provider of floral or plant product, living or artificial. A retail shop may be a better fit for you rather than a floral designer.

Planning

What is it like to work with Kelsey Gray Events?

Check out my experience guides to learn more about this planning process. They will tell you all about the full planning process and planning a destination Nashville wedding.

I’m going to do all of the planning myself, so I just need someone on site the day of the wedding to do my set-up and clean-up. Do you do that?

The minimum planning package is the partial planning package, which includes the creation of the timeline and communication with vendors. Clients hire me because of my expertise planning and organizing events and all of the little details that go into that process. If you are seeking an assistant to check off your to-do list then I am not the right person for you.
