Nashville Destination Wedding Planning tips

Five Reasons to have your Destination Wedding in Nashville

Friends, I love working with out-of-town couples planning their wedding in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve been in Nashville since college, so about 14 years, and I just love this city. With technology these days we can plan your wedding in Nashville from almost anywhere in the world. My personal record for farthest-away client is Dubai, and I have been known to wander around venues with my phone in the air giving a Facetime tour to my couples. I am a huge fan of destination weddings in Nashville, and here are my top 5 reasons to have your destination wedding here:

  1. Guests actually want to come here! – There is SO much to do in Nashville. Really there is something for everyone. We have plenty of historic homes and museums for those that love a trip back in time. There is the Opry at the Ryman, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, and about a dozen bars on Broadway for those who love the music scene. Plus, Cheekwood gardens and nearby hikes and waterfalls for outdoorsy folks. There is no room for boredom in Nashville, and the city has probably been on your guests’ bucket-list for a long time. They will truly be thoroughly excited when they receive their save-the-date telling them to book their trip!

2. Central location = easier travel – Nashville is centrally located between the North and South and is only about a 5-hour flight from the West Coast. Most of your guests won’t need a passport, and they won’t have to spend a fortune to come here like they would if you booked your wedding in Bali or some other island resort. Save the beach for the honeymoon, book Nashville for the party!

3. Turn your event into a whole wedding weekend – Expanding on reasons #1 & 2, why not expand the whole wedding into a wedding weekend? Have your best buds come in on Thursday for his and her bachelor/bachelorette parties. Downtown never closes and is hoppin’ on Thursdays, too. Remaining guests can come in on Friday for the rehearsal dinner. Saturday morning, we can plan some touristy outings for your guests, and even book buses to pick them up at their hotel and bring them back in time to get ready for the wedding Saturday night. Finish the weekend with a bang with a post-wedding brunch before everyone catches their flights home Sunday afternoon. As your Nashville-based wedding planner, I can organize it all so that you never have to lift a finger and guests come away with the best wedding weekend experience ever. Seriously, they will never forget this weekend!

4. Awesome downtown wedding photos – Do I need to say more on this one? Nashville has a beautiful skyline, and photos from the rooftops, pedestrian bridge, or just wandering the streets of downtown are all stunning.

5. Save $$ on your reception – What?!? You likely weren’t expecting this one but hear me out. Too often I see couples that book a late-night reception, up until 11pm or midnight, but half their guests or more leave at 9pm after the cake cutting and first dances. For those two or three extra hours you’ve likely paid for extra time on the venue, the wedding planner, the DJ, the bartender, plus the extra alcohol that will be consumed in that time. You’ll also pay late-night pick-up fees on the rentals and possibly the florist.

INSTEAD, cut the party off at 9 or 10pm and let the early-to-bed folks go home. Then you and your party people can go downtown to finish the evening. Nobody can host a party like downtown Nashville! There are a variety of bars to choose from, and you can move around as much as you like. If you book downtown wedding venues such as The Noelle, Acme Feed & Seed, or the Country Music Hall of Fame then you can literally walk to Broadway. If not, then as your wedding planner I will help you book a bus or a bunch of Ubers to take you there. You can party all night with no noise restrictions and save money in the process!

Now that you’ve read my top 5 reasons for booking your destination wedding in Nashville, I hope you are thoroughly convinced that this is THE place to be for your wedding. Send me a message to check your date so we can get started planning your wedding right now!
