This post features one of our weddings from June 2017. The bride designed and planned this event herself, with floral design and month-of coordination by Kelsey Gray Events. Bride Hannah had such great ideas that it made my job all too easy!
The event was held at The Wren’s Nest venue in Murfreesboro, TN, with the ceremony held on a beautiful hilltop clearing in the woods. It was hot, hot, hot on this summer day, and we were so grateful for the shade. The ceremony site was a short hike away from the parking and main event space, but was well worth the trip. The trees provided the ultimate quiet, get-away-from-it all type of ceremony without actually going too far out of the city. And what a backdrop for a gorgeous bride!
The ceremony took place in the barn, which features two levels of farm-style beauty. Hannah used the downstairs section for dining and the upstairs for an awesome dance floor. Kelsey Gray Events hand-made over 200 feet of willow eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus garland for this wedding, with touches of white spray roses and larkspur mixed into the greenery. There were two 40-ft tables, 9 circle tables, and garland everywhere we could put it!
Other decor included string lights provided by The Wren’s Nest, white china, and accents of gold in the tableware. To add a touch of color, we added purple larkspur at each plate. Don’t you love these cute favor boxes provided by the mother of the groom? They contained some delicious popcorn that the guests couldn’t wait to dig into. It was the perfect appetizer before chefs served up some famous Southern BBQ for dinner.
The bouquets contained massive white peonies, white larkspur, and silver dollar eucalyptus for a wild, natural look to compliment the woodsy venue. They were finished with long, trailing ribbons of velvet and other plant-dyed fabrics to contrast with the bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses.
