Downtown Nashville Fall Wedding at Noelle

Without a doubt, Noelle in downtown Nashville is one of my favorite venues for intimate luxury weddings. The ballroom is a beautiful clean, white space that is a good neutral backdrop for any design, and the lobby and cocktail area is a green & gold art deco design with leather couches and a custom built in bar that is made to impress! So I couldn’t have been happier when Becca & Mike decided to book their dream wedding at Noelle, and it was a joy to help them bring their vision to life.

Noelle has some unique options for first look photos.

For this wedding, I was able to do flowers in addition to wedding coordination, which is my favorite thing to do with weddings because we can meld the organizational and design details of planning with the floral design to create something that is not only unique to the couple but cohesive throughout.

Broken arches are a very popular backdrop for ceremonies right now! And they’re great because they can also sit behind the sweetheart table for some added decor.

Most weddings at Noelle use the same ballroom for both the ceremony and the reception, and we flip the space during cocktail hour. So Becca & Mike needed a ceremony backdrop that would convert well from ceremony throughout the rest of the night. They selected this broken arch, built around one of the deep windows in the Noelle ballroom. The beauty of a piece like this is that we can put the sweetheart table in front of it during the reception, giving them a great backdrop for photos in both spaces.

Centerpieces were designed almost entirely with locally-grown Tennessee blooms, including dahlias, cosmos, lavender, strawflower, and clematis.

Since this wedding took place in October right before the last frost, flowers in Middle Tennessee were still in full bloom, and we were able to use mostly locally grown flowers. I love using locally grown flowers whenever possible because they are fresher and support our Tennessee farmers! Flourishing Fields Farms in Southern Middle Tennessee provided dahlias, cosmos, lavender, and strawflower for my designs, and I supplemented with a few flowers shipped in from California, such as ranunculus, clematis, and spray roses. Instead of identical centerpieces on every table, each piece was one-of-a-kind, which truly brings something special to an event.

Downtown Nashville is one of my favorite places for couples photos!

Another reason that I love when couples book weddings downtown is that there are so many options for stunning photos! Whereas a lot of outdoor photos are dependent on the season and whether the trees are green or the colors have changed, photos in downtown Nashville are always going to be fun. Becca & Mike took their photos in Printer’s Alley, right behind the Noelle, so they didn’t have to find transportation or walk all over the city. But Broadway, the Pedestrian Bridge, and the War Memorial Building are all fun options, as well.

The reception space before the lighting change.

During cocktail hour, the Noelle catering team and my planning team worked together to flip the space for the reception. Becca selected simple table designs in neutrals that complement the ballroom, accented by colorful flowers and super unique purple-filtered lighting. You can check out what a difference that lighting makes in these before and after photos. It really transforms the space from one of soft romance to one of a fun, party atmosphere. This is just another reason why the neutral backdrop of the Noelle ballroom is such a great choice – you can’t get this kind of atmosphere change with just any venue!

Lighting can completely transform a space from a soft, romantic vibe for a ceremony into a party atmosphere for the reception!
I love how these florals shine in the party lighting!

After the reception, it’s time to sneak away for just a few more “going away” and “send off” photos. There are so many great nooks and crannies for photos in the Noelle lobby, that taking advantage of them is a must!

Couples love to take end-of-night photos in front of the elevators going up to their room in the Noelle.

Because the Noelle is a hotel (without the traditional hotel ballroom with ugly carpeting and wallpaper) Becca & Mike were able to stay on site for the night after the wedding. Couples love that they can go out with their friends in downtown Nashville right after the wedding, then they have a room to come back to at the end of the night. No need to worry about transportation!

Sparkler exit with the Printer’s Alley sign in the background

After a quick dress change and before going out, Becca & Mike had to do some “send off” photos with sparklers in front of the Printer’s Alley sign. Is this exactly legal in Nashville? My answer: I’m not a lawyer or a police officer.
