Are you a BBQ fan, or a taco fan? Or are you like me, and you can’t get enough of both? Well, in the case of Lexi and Jacob, opposites attract. Lexi craves BBQ sandwiches, while Jacob loves those chips and queso. They couldn’t decide which they would have at their wedding. Well, marriage is all about compromise, right? So, we had both!
Food and fun were high on the priority list for Lexi and Jacob, so we searched high and low for a venue with a fun atmosphere and caterers who could do both BBQ and Mexican fare. Did you know that Corky’s BBQ in Brentwood also caters Mexican food? I had no idea! We set up buffet lines – one for BBQ, one for tacos – and guests were able to choose their preference. Personally, I made myself a kind of BBQ nacho dish smothered in queso, and it was amazing!
For the we ended up booking Cumberland River Farm in Ashland City. It’s a bit of a drive from Nashville, but the views are so worth it! The venue sits right on the water, and it was a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony.
In her own nod to the traditional October seasonal colors, Lexi went with an orange and rust color palette, but spiced it up with touches of peach and light blue. Not to brag, but the colors came out perfectly in the flowers that I was able to put together for them.
Cumberland River Farm is a barn venue, so it was the perfect setting for laid back fun and partying. Guests loved the amazing food and fun DJ. The couple also brought in a live wedding painter, which was super fun for guests to watch as the painting came together throughout the night.
