Every couple that I work with is so special to me, and Brie and Mike were no different. They were such a sweet, fun-loving couple whose main priority was to have a blast with their friends on their wedding day. There are things about each wedding that I’ll never forget, and with Brie & Mike it was their fun-loving spirit and love of tacos!
We started wedding planning a mere five months in advance. Yikes! Sounds scary, right? But for a seasoned wedding panner it’s totally doable! The hardest part is finding a venue available for October, which is the most popular month to get married in Nashville. After several venue tours the bride and groom fell in love with Carnton, a truly beautiful piece of historic property in Franklin, TN. Carnton will soon stop hosting weddings all together, so Brie & Mike were some of the last to get married there, which makes the experience extra special.
After securing a date and a venue, it was a mad rush to get vendors booked before they all filled up. Despite the rush, we had so much fun picking out rentals and tasting cakes.
Brie had one request for the food – it had to be tacos! And oh my goodness Rosie’s Fiesta Taco Bar did not disappoint. Guests cleaned out every bit of the food and were talking about it all night. I got to grab a plate, too, and it was some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The best part was that Rosie brought her food truck to cook the food right on site, so it was very fresh and smelled amazing.
For the design the couple chose soft and simple table décor. I loved the mix of the white chairs with black plates and pink accents.
On wedding day, we had moody fall weather, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. The garden at Carnton is beautiful even when plants are dying back and preparing for winter. Brie & Mike had their dogs participate in their engagement photos, so of course we had to bring them back for the ceremony, as well. Puppy ring bearers are the cutest thing ever.
The whole day was so light-hearted and full of merriment. Never too serious, the groom had to play a little practical joke on the bride for their first look.
One first for me was creating this dessert tower. I’m a dessert-eater, not a dessert creator, so I had to practice a bit. We ordered all the cakes, donuts, and macaroons from Publix, who is a great low-cost option for yummy dessert. However, they deliver, but they don’t set up, so that job fell to me. How much do you love this look?!?
As a planner one of the best parts of my job is seeing our hard work come together. It was a nice change of pace to see results so quickly after a fast planning process instead of waiting over a year.
